· Read from Metamorphoses background page 9 independently. Annotated. Discussed. Read page 10 together.
· Discussed “foreshadowing” (warning or indication of a future event) – write definition at the top of the page
· Read Metamorphoses as a class.
· Issues (with partner) on the right hand side of page 15. Make chart on separate sheet of paper with modern day issues brought up in the myth (youth and age, independence, technology, talent – given, come up with TWO MORE of your own. One example - captivity/escape) and examples of where they are in the myth. Note line numbers of your examples.
Homework: Read Williams poem, pg 14, and answer number 7 on pg 15.
